“I always felt guided in my journey to becoming a teacher and was able to draw on the expertise of prior trainees as well as experience teachers. Having both a professional and subject mentor provided me with endless support within my subject and in developing my overall skills as a teacher. There were many opportunities to meet other trainees and attend additional CPD opportunities that furthered my knowledge of all 3 sciences. When it came to applying for a job, I was given guidance on applications and interview skills. Time never seemed to be an issue for any of the mentors or SCITT leaders, they were always on hand to assist. The course is personalised and caters for your specific needs as a trainee, and I felt prepared to take on my own classes when becoming an NQT.
